Yan lands 150th win on My Darlin Angel

Jockey Yan Weng Kuan reached a significant milestone in his career when he steered MY DARLIN ANGEL (Irish Royal - Pashionia by Rory's Jester) to an narrow victory in a Class 4 Banded 48-58 handicap over 1600m here today.

It was Yan's 150th winner in the saddle and he would be entitled to claim only 1kg from tomorrow.

It was the sixth win in 41 starts for MY DARLIN ANGEL, who has finished on board three of four starts this season.

Visiting jockeys Aaron Austin and Jose de Souza were lucky to pick up a ride each after leading jockey Noel Callow were certified unwell after winning on DUTY FREE SPIRIT (King Of Kings - Hit And Run by Success Express) in Race 3.

GUANGZHOU STAR (Dane Shadow - Mahma by Jade Hunter), with Austin in the saddle, won the third Ipoh heat of the Malaysia 3YO Championship, defeating the odds-on favourite HOT BUTTERFLY.

VENETIAN (Royal Academy - Madame Danzer by Danzero), ridden by Jose De Souza, picked up his second win in just six starts since December 2008 when he won his debut.
