AGENT OF SPEED ran his
rivals off their feet to record a spectacular upset in the Class 3 - 1200m
sprint at Kranji here tonight.
Ridden by apprentice Steven
Li, the Australian five-year-old led from start to finish to win by two and
a quarter lengths to pay S$755 for a win.
Winner of two races in
Australia, AGENT OF SPEED (Blackfriars - Super Women by Scenic) registered
his second win in Singapore last February when he accounted for a Class 3
field over 1400m.
He has been tried over
longer trips since then without any success, which was perhaps why he was
neglected in the betting. Besides, punters went solidly behind ONE MORE
MINUTE who had three wins and a second in four starts coming into tonight's
race. The odds-on favourite, however, managed only fourth.
