Hot Butterfly bags MRA Cup

KUALA LUMPUR:  Mar 27, 2011

Champion owner Golden Knight Stable celebrated their 2010 championship success, for which the trophy was presented today, with a 1-2 finish in the RM300,000 MRA Cup over 1400m at Sungei Besi today.

HOT BUTTERFLY, who scored a magnificent win in the Malaysia Magic Millions Classic on this track last December, defeated GOOD JUDGEMENT for her sixth win in 10 starts.

Three years ago, Golden Knight Stable spent a couple of million ringgit to beef up their string with an impressive list of purchases at the sales in Australia.

Among them were HOT BUTTERFLY (Fastnet Rock - Laguna Lake by Odyle) which cost A$100,000  at the Horses In Training Sale and GOOD JUDGEMENT (Lonhro - Agile by Canny Lad) which they secured for A$170,000 as a yearling.

With the duo and others in their stables now beginning to realise their potential, it would be very difficult to deny them another title.
