Beautiful Choice wins NSF Challenge Cup

KUALA LUMPUR:  June 11, 2011

Lightly-raced but consistent BEAUTIFUL CHOICE scored a narrow but deserving win in the RM200,000 National Stud Farm Challenge Cup over 1600m at Sungei Besi here today.

The four-year-old, who cost RM100,000 at the National Premier Sale, had started just eight times since making his debut in November 2009 but managed to chalk up two wins and five seconds.

Last time out, BEAUTIFUL CHOICE (Super Istana - Bliss by Serheed) beat all but TURF SPEC in the Tunku Abdul Rahman Anniversary Cup (1400m) in Penang.

However, with a switch of rider to Leong Yoon Fei today in the restricted race for graduates of the National Premier Sale, the gelding snatched a thrilling win to atone for his last start defeat when he was the beaten favourite.
