Beautiful Choice wins Wira Malaysia Cup

BEAUTIFUL CHOICE completed a superb double in the 'derby' for Malaysian breds with a runaway win in the RM300,000 Wira Malaysia Cup over 1600m here today.

Last year, the John McGillivray-trained gelding overcame the 2009 winner CONJURE (now renamed WINNER TAKES ALL) to take the Cup in his first attempt.

Since then, BEAUTIFUL CHOICE (Super Istana - Bliss by Serheed) has gone on to win the RM200,000 NSF Challenge Cup and the NSF Silver Bowl from five previous starts this season, which prompted punters to install him odds-on favourite in the Cup today.

Ridden by Leong Yoon Fei, BEAUTIFUL CHOICE packed too much class for his rivals, winning by four and a quarter lengths. It was his fifth win in 12 starts.
