He was bought for A$1.7mil
as a yearling and failed to live up to his huge expectation in Australia.
All his three wins all came on provincial tracks. In the city, he failed to
find the mark although he finished second four times.
Sent over to Singapore, THE
COMEDIAN (Encosta De Lago - How Funny by Rory's Jester) wasted no time to
make his mark when he scored an impressive first-up victory in the Progress
- 1200m sprint on the polytrack at Kranji tonight.
Ridden by Robbie Fradd, the
four-year-old was caught wide most of the way early but managed to pull away
in the straight to win by 1 3/4 lengths.
New-kid-on-the-block Jose
Verenzuela kept up his winning streak when he booted home a double on
TROPICAL FOREST (Enforcer - De Gray by Paris House) and RUM RUNNER
(Bletchley Park - Spiritualiste by Dauberval).
The Venezuela-born jockey
scored in his maiden Singapore appearance last Friday, followed by another
win last Sunday.
