A change of name brought an
instant change of fortune for MID EAST CONQUEROR (San Luis - Shot The Moggy
by Tale Of The Cat) in a Class 5 - 1400m sprint here today.
The New Zealand gelding
began racing as I CARE in August 2007 and managed a win in Maiden company 12
months later. Since then he has struggled to find success again, although he
began the year with a second last month.
Racing under his new name for the first
time today, MID EAST CONQUEROR, ridden by replacement Jacky Lim, was hard
tested when he romped to an easy four and a half-length victory.
There was an even more sensational win for
CIZEN WORLD (Savabeel - Danish Wedding by Danasinga) in the Class 3 - 1400m
handicap. Beaten into second place in his last two starts, the
three-year-old trashed his rivals by eight and a quarter lengths for his
third win in 15 starts. |
