Expensive import TZAR
showed just why he was valued so highly when he scored a debut in the
Restricted Maiden - 1100m sprint on the polytrack at Kranji here today, just
days after EMMA Stable bought the gelding from his previous owner.
However, it was another
newcomer, ONE MORE MINUTE, who stole the thunder with a runaway victory in
another Restricted Maiden event over 1200m on turf.
TZAR, who cost A$15,000 as
a yearling, was sold for A$180,000 as a two-year-old at the Horses In
Training Sale just a few months later.
Ridden by Barend Vorster,
TZAR (Gonski - Blazing Sky by Hurricane Sky) was always travelling well and
won comfortably by one length.
ONE MORE MINUTE (Iglesia -
Just A Tick by Semiplalatinsk), who cost $42,000 as a yearling, ran his
rivals off their feet, leading throughout to win by five lengths.
