Dictator returns to winning form

DICTATOR ended a series of minor placings with a runaway win in the Class 3 - 1100m sprint on the polytrack at Kranji tonight to provide trainer Michael Freedman with a welcome change of luck.

The four-your-old, who won by five and three quarters lengths, shaved 0.01 second off the course record set by NEW TARGET last year with a time of 1 min 4.67 secs. His victory also brought up a third quadruple of the season for jockey Joao Moreira.

DICTATOR (Tycoon Ruler - Bella Fuse by Irgun) won three races, including his debut, for trainer John Meagher last year. With Meagher's departure, the gelding came under Freedman and tonight's outing was his second under his new trainer who went through the whole month of April without saddling a winner.

Moreira, meanwhile, is riding on the crest of a wave. It was only two weeks ago when the champion jockey landed his second quadruple of the year.
