DONTELLTHEWIFE braved heavy
rain to score an easy win in the second running of the Group 3 Moonbeam Vase
over 1800m at Kranji here today.
Stepping up in class after
winning a Kranji Stakes C event on the polytrack last time out, the
four-year-old handled the change in track condition best to win by two and a
half lengths from the well-backed runners NEW ROSE WOOD (Love A Dane -
Western Explorer by Is It True) and SOUTH EASTER (Galileo - Dance Treat by
Nureyev).
Two months ago,
DONTELLTHEWIFE (Volksraad - Juliette Heights by Shirley Heights) showed
promise when he finished fourth to FATKID (Handsome Ransom - Grace Jones by
Maroof) in the Fortune Bowl over 2000m.
Today's win was his fourth
in 20 starts for the Michael Clements-trained entire who cost NZ$40,000 at
the Ready To Run Sale.
