Expensive yearling purchase SOUTH EASTER is off the mark in Singapore with a runaway victory in the Kranji Stakes C event over 1900m on the polytrack at Kranji here tonight.

Purchased for 210,000 guineas at the 2007 Tattersalls October Yearling Sale, he was raced by Markus Jooste and Bernard Kantor in England and had eight starts in two seasons, chalking up two wins including the listed Magnolia Stakes (2011m) on the polytrack at Kempton.

After three three outings on the turf, SOUTH EASTER (Galileo - Dance Treat by Nureyev) stepped it up tonight, kicking to the front 700m out to win by three-and-a-half lengths.
