EXCAVATOR (Happy Giggle -
Honey Bouquet by Last Tycoon) carved up another win at Kranji tonight to
give former three-time apprentice jockey Mark Ewe a comeback victory after a
long layoff due to injury.
Ewe
fractured his shoulder when he fell from CASINO
ROYALE in a race last August and only recently returned to race riding.
EXCAVATOR, who had three wins and two seconds in six previous starts,
coasted to an easy victory in the Progress - 1200m sprint on the polytrack.
Costing
just A$10,000 as a yearling, the three-year-old has now earned more than
S$210,000.
"My
fitness is not quite there yet, but it is slowly coming back. I needed that
win to get my confidence back," said Ewe.
