Fradd suspended three months

SINGAPORE:  April 4, 2011

Jockey Robbie Fradd was today handed a three-month suspension for his ride on DACNING PILLOWS (Know Heights - Damcing Colors by Mightnight Tiger) in the Initiation - 1600m event at Kranji on March 20.

The Brazilian three-year-old, trained by Patrick Shaw, came from second last at the home turn to finish seventh to BOY (Istidaad - Validify by Kashani).

The inquiry into the running and riding of DANCING PILLOWS was concluded today. Fradd, the rider of the filly, pleaded guilty to a charge under MRA Rule 44(10) in that he failed to ride to the satisfaction of the Stewards in that whilst riding DANCING PILLOWS, he failed to ride with sufficient vigour and determination from the 600m until near the 250m to improve his position when there was an opportunity to do so.

When deciding on penalty, the Stewards took into account his record and the nature of the charge. Fradd was suspended from riding in races for a period of three months with immediate effect from today to July 3, 2011 both dates inclusive and was advised of his right of appeal.
