BLACK GENIUS was back in
the winner's circle at his favourite track with a hard-fought victory in a
Class 4 - 1200m sprint here today.
Since making his debut in
February 2009, the American gelding has tasted success only on his home
track in Penang. But after two back-to-back wins in 2009, it took him
another 26 months before he greeted the judges again last July when he won
the Linneys Jewellery Trophy (Class 4 - 1200m) in Penang.
Five runs later, BLACK
GENIUS (Speed Jaro - Frosty Lady Who by Ice Age) showed his liking for the
track again today, winning by a short head in a thrilling finish.
New trainer Wee Meng Hua
saddled his second winner in three days when KIM STAR (Theatre - Kim Paula
by Bletchley Park) broke through for her maiden win in the Maiden - 1200m
handicap.
The mare had found one to
beat in her maiden run under Wee last week.
