Flax and Red Beard complete hat-trick

FLAX coasting to an easy victory

FLAX and RED BEARD stayed unbeaten in three starts in contrasting styles at Kranji here tonight.

FLAX (Silvano - Bejewelled Sprint by Elliodor), as in his previous two starts, came from a long way back to win drawing away by one and a quarter lengths in the Kranji Stakes C - 1800m event.

RED BEARD (Zenno Rob Boy - Sandalwood by Sandtrap) also came from way off the pace and got there just in time to win by a short head in the Class 3 - 1400m handicap.

South African-bred FLAX was passed in at 180,000 Rand as a yearling but was later sold for 230,000 Rand as a two-year-old where as FLAX cost just NZ$22,000 at the New Zealand Bloodstock weanling sale.
