Apprentice Joseph See has failed in his appeal against a one-year disqualification for his handling of LOOK AT ME at Kranji last July 29. The six-year-old, trained by John O'Hara, came home strongly to finish second, beaten one length, to PINK CHEETAH in a Class 5, Div 2 - 1400m handicap. At the conclusion of an inquiry on Aug 10, See was found guilty to a charge under MRA Rule 44(8) for failing to take all reasonable and permissible measures to obtain the best possible placing and disqualified one year. See Subsequently appealed against the decision of the Stipendiary Stewards and the penalty imposed on him. The race meeting stewards’ hearing of the appeal was concluded today. After considering all of the evidence together with submissions from See, his master, trainer Tan Hor Khoon, See’s legal counsel and the chairman of the inquiry panel, the race meeting stewards dismissed the appeal. The penalty was confirmed and See was disqualified for a period of one year with immediate effect from today to Oct 13 next year. His deposit was forfeited. |
