FINDERSKEEPERS, who had
three wins and three seconds from just seven starts in New Zealand, has been
quick to carry that form to Singapore with a stylish win in the Class 3 -
1200m sprint at Kranji tonight.
After finishing fourth in
his debut last month, the five-year-old by Keeper from the Rory's Jester
mare Join The Fun quickly stepped it up when he came from midfield early to
win by one length from BE A MAN.
Two of his placings in New
Zealand were achieved in the listed James & Annie Sarten Memorial (1400m) at
Te Rapa and the Group 2 Avondale Guineas (1600m).
Meanwhile, POWER BLITZ (Fusaichi
Pegasus - Sunday Wish by Sadler's Wells) galloped into the picture for the
Gold Cup (2200m) next month with an impressive win in the Class 3 - 1600m
handicap.
Beaten into second in his
Singapore debut last year, he was sidelined for 13 months due to a foot
infection. But that did not stop him winning first-up last month and defying
a promotion to win again tonight.
The American gelding raced
11 starts in top company in the USA for two wins over 1710m and 2011m at
Santa Anita and four placings, two each at Santa Anita and Hollywood Park.
