The season just got better
and better for champion Joao Moreira.
His first six-timer from
eight rides at Kranji today brought his tally to 84 for the season and he is
well on his way to breaking his own record of 116 winners he set last year.
"I
am just so glad to be on top of so many good horses,” said the modest
Brazilian. “I just have to thank all those people who have supported me
throughout the year.”
Moreira started the day
with a 'bang' on FUKU'S PET (No Excuse Needed - Little Gem by Night Shift)
who broke the duck in his 18 outing before guiding newcomer SUPER EASY (Darci
Brahma - Parfore by Gold Brose) to a runaway win.
SUPER EASY, who notched a
win at at Trentham in three starts in New Zealand, was also third in the
Group 3 Eclipse Stakes at Elleslie and fourth in the NZ$1mil Karaka Million.
Moreira was full of praise for the three-year-old after the victory.
Moreira signed off the day
with back-to-back wins on DEJAYAL (Thorn Park - Golden Bridge by Gold
Brose) and WON'T STOP (Testa Rossa - No Say by Celestial Dancer). Surely
there is no stopping him from another championship title.
