Mr Big captures Aushorse Golden Horseshoe

A eleventh hour decision to start MR BIG in the S$325,000 Aushorse Golden Horseshoe for two-year-olds paid dividend when he captured the 1200m tonight.

MR BIG (Elusive Quality - Basamaat by Danehill) only made his racing debut last Friday when he romped home by eight and three quarters lengths on the polytrack.

So impressive was the display that trainer Michael Freedman decided to back him up in the Singapore Group 2 event tonight.

"The final Leg was definitely worth considering even though it was not an ideal preparation to back him up within a week," said Freedman. "But you are two only once and he has pulled up so well that I decided to give him a crack."

With Danny Beasley in the saddle, MR BIG showed a lot of fighting spirit to defeat the odds-on favourite DARK MATTER, who had won both his previous two starts, by a neck.
