Super consistent MUDHISH
was rewarded with his second feature race success in the RM250,000 Sports
Toto Trophy over 1400m at Sungei Besi here today.
The well-bred gelding, who
was passed in at A$195,000 as a yearling, was placed once in two runs in
Australia before he heading to Malaysia, has never finished out of the
placings in 10 starts here, winning the RM250,000 Japan Bloodhorse Breeders
Association (1400m) in Penang last July.
Ridden by Jose De Sozua for
the first time today, MUDHISH (Redoute's Choice - Alzahra by Sir Cat) led
his rivals on a merry chase, winning by one length for his fifth win.
Meanwhile, trainer Richard
Lines and jockey Jackson Low combined to take the first two races with VISTA
(Pacific Prince - AR Registered by North Reef) and WISEMAN (Monolith -
Garnett Court by Pompeii Court) today to consolidate their lead in their
respective tables.
Low (60 wins) is seven
clear of Azhar Ismail in the jockey's table while Lines (65 wins) is four
clear of Kevin Coetzee with four racing days to day. The jockeys have an
additional day of competition next Saturday in Ipoh. |
