GOOD NATURE, who caused a
mild upset when he captured the Selangor Gold Cup last year, asserted his
superiority in the 1600m event again today.
The six-year-old showed a
return to form to win over the same course and distance last time out after
having finishing unplaced in four consecutive starts.
And with apprentice Jacky
Lim partnering him once again, GOOD NATURE (Way Of Light - Tears We Cry by
French Deputy) got home by three-quarters of a length from EAGLE with the
veteran LIM'S FIGHTER third.
GOOD NATURE was the second
big win in a week for Golden Knight Stable and trainer Kevin Coetzee, after
having won the MRA Cup over 1400m last Sunday with HOT BUTTERFLY.
Costing just A$10,000 as a
yearling, the entire has now chalked up 10 wins in 29 starts and earned more
than RM1.4mil in prizemoney. GOOD NATURE also won
the Perak Derby and Piala Emas Sultan Selangor in 2009. He suffered a cut in
his near-fore in the Piala Emas Sultan Selangor last June and was spelled
for several months. But his last two starts indicated that he is truly back
at his best.
