It has taken MIYAGISAN and
MR ROAR nearly three and two years respectively and a change a name to
finally register their maiden win.
MIYAGISAN (Captain Rio -
The Heroine by Herocity) was purchased for NZ$120,000 at the Ready To Run
sale and began racing in Singapore in September 2008 when known as CAPTAIN
MARINE.
It was only after his fifth
change of trainer to Luke Danis in July this year that he began to show some
form with three consecutive placings, culminating with his narrow victory in
a Maiden - 1200m sprint in a special one-day novelty meeting here today. It
was his 15th outing.
MR ROAR (Senor Pete -
Pheroz Beauty by Manntari) was purchased by trainer Wong Kong Fatt for just
NZ$4,500 as a 2YO at the South Island Sale and started racing as CROCODILE
DUNDEE in September 2009.
The six-year-old managed
just two placings in 16 previous starts had also to fight hard for his win
in the Class 5 - 1600m handicap.
