City Cup hat-trick

ROCKET MAN as expected made
it a hat-trick of wins in the S$500,000 Lion City Cup over 1200m at Kranji
here today.
Fresh from his first
international Group 1 success in the Dubai Golden Shaheen in late March, the
Patrick Shaw-trained five-year-old led his rivals on a merry chase and had
the race won a long way out, easing to the line five lengths clear of BETTER
BE THE ONE.
The runner-up, who also
returned from Dubai after finishing a gallant third in the Group 3 Al Quoz
Sprint (1000m), was simply no match for the winner.
ROCKET MAN has now won 15
of 19 starts, with four second placings all coming at international Group 1
events.
The win today set him up
nicely for another crack at the KrisFlyer International Sprint in three
week's time after having found one to beat in the Group 1 1200m sprint in
the last two years.
