ROCKET MAN (Viscount - Macrosa by Mc Ginty) returned to racing in style at Kranji today, a perfect preparation for the Group 1 Sprinters Stakes at Nakayama in Japan on Oct 2.

Ridden by Barend Vorster, the six-year-old ran his rivals off their feet in the Kranji Stakes A - 1200m sprint on the polytrack, winning by five lengths.

It was his first start since winning the Group 1 KrisFlyer International Sprint back in May.

Trainer Patrick Shaw said he will check out his charge tomorrow before pressing ahead with his scheduled departure for Japan on Sep 17.

With 17 wins and 4 seconds from 21 starts, Rocket Man, already the highest stakes earner in Malaysia/Singapore racing, took his earning past the S$5.4mil mark.
