Saifudin scores first treble at Kranji

Saifudin Ismail, who five years ago took the bold step of making Singapore his base despite the presence of so many top riders from around the world at Kranji, enjoyed his best meeting yet when he booted home three winners tonight.

Saifudin, 42, who began his career in Penang riding for now-retired trainer Teh Choon Beng, started the evening with a 'bang' when successful on GOD OF SPEED (Shamardal - Shopping Spree by Success Express).

Later, he scored back-to-back wins on DAYS OF THUNDER (Lucky Owners - Zedique by Zeditave) and ART OF SPEED (More Than Ready - Sapphire Girl by Danzero), both maiden winners.

"I’m very happy to score my first treble in Kranji. I’ve had a few doubles here, and have ridden trebles in Bukit Timah and in Malaysia but this is my first treble at Kranji,” said Saifudin.

Saifudin, however, had to share honours with Ronnie Stewart who was successful on FLASH GORDON (Catbird - Kayzarana by Generous), SIMPSON (Straight Strike - Victory Leah by Victory Zone) and FUKU ICIHIBAN (Black Minnaloushe - Yulia by Hunza Court).
