||
Apprentice Jacky Low (SH Low) has been slapped with a two-month suspension for his ride on BEAUTIFUL WORLD in the Restricted Terms - 1000m sprint on the polytrack at Kranji on March 25. The Don Baertschiger-trained BEAUTIFUL WORLD (Beautiful Crown - Zabstar by Zabeel) came from second last at the home turn to finish sixth to SPEED PHIL. The inquiry into the running and riding of BEAUTIFUL WORLD was concluded yesterday. Low, in the presence of his master Baertschiger, pleaded guilty to a charge under MRA Rule 44(10) in that between the 450m until the 250m, he failed to ride to the satisfaction of the Stewards when he failed to ride his mount with sufficient vigour to improve his position when there was an opportunity to do so. When deciding on penalty, the Stewards took into account his record, guilty plea, the nature of the charge and submissions from Low that he has been engaged to ride at the Singapore meetings on Friday and Sunday. The Stewards determined to suspend his licence to ride in races for a period of two months and acting under MRA Rule 48(5), the commencement of the suspension was deferred to begin on Monday, April 25 until June 24 June, both dates inclusive. He was advised of his right of appeal. |
