SUPER EASY (Darci Brahma -
Parfore by Gold Brose) maintained his unbeaten record in Singapore by
capturing the S$350,000 EW Barker Trophy over 1400m at Kranji tonight.
The New Zealand colt came
to Singapore with a big reputation, having chalked up one win and finished
second in the Group 3 Eclipse Stakes and fourth in the listed Karaka Million
in as many starts in New Zealand.
The three-year-old has
carried all before him in five starts in Singapore with his regular rider
Joao Moreira. Facing his biggest test yet tonight, SUPER EASY won
comfortably by half-a-length.
Astonishingly, despite
Moreira's phenomenal strike rate this season, the EW Barker Trophy win was
his first group success of the year.
