The Bank to classy in Malaysian debut

THE BANK, trained by Johnny Lim and ridden by HS Gill, showed too much class in his Malaysian debut in the Class 3 - 1100m sprint over the straight course here today.

Having raced in pretty good company in Australia winning three of 19 starts, the five-year-old was simply too good for his rivals as he romped home by 4 1/2 lengths in the soft going.

The straight course was never going to be a problem for THE BANK (Hillman - Instant by Prego), having registered a second over 1000m at Flemington as a three-year-old.

The gelding also managed a win over 1300m at Sandown in heavy going and he handled the track today perfectly.
