With just a few days left
in the lunar year of the tiger, TIGER SON finally roared to life with his
maiden win in the Class 5 - 1800m handicap here today.
The five-year-old had
managed just two placings in 24 previous starts, but with in-form apprentice
Mohd Yazid in the saddle for the first time and in his first test beyond
1700m today, TIGER SON (Half Hennessy - Koninderie by Monongahela) coasted
to an easy win to pay RM90 for a win.
TURF SPEC (Magic Of Money -
Bonhomie Gal by Bletchley Park), the most successful Malaysian bred of her
class, stretched her record to five wins in 18 starts when she defied
top-weight to win the NSF Malaysian Stakes over 1200m.
The five-year-old mare was
purchased for RM54,000 the National Premier Sale and brought her earnings to
RM325,270 with today's victory.
