TRUDEAU made an impressive
start to his campaign in Malaysia when he captured the first leg of the
Mitavite Sprint Challenge over 1200m at Sungei Besi here today.
Ridden by Noel Callow, the
Australian entire defeated three bang-in-form runners to win by three
quarters of a length in 1min. 10.4secs.
The next leg of the series
for four-year-olds will be held in Penang on Oct 9 while the final leg will
be run in Ipoh on Nov 20.
The first four finishers in
each race will be awarded 12, 6, 4 and 2 points respectively and the horse
which accumulates the most points will be declared the Champion Mitavite
Four-Year-Old Horse and received 12 months supply of Mitavite/Mitamite
Feeds.
TRUDEAU (Exceed And Excel -
Canadian Legacy by Kris) had a promising juvenile campaign in Australia,
notching two wins (including one at Sandown) and a third from just four
starts.
He had another third
placing at Moonee Valley in six runs at three before flying out to Malaysia
for trainer Richard Lines whose stable is enjoying is enjoying a tremendous
run of success at the moment.
For jockey Callow, who
returned to ride in Malaysia in recent weeks after a stint in India, it was
his third winner of the afternoon from just five rides.
