Kiwi trainer Mark Walker,
in his first full season in Singapore, enjoyed his best afternoon at Kranji
yet with a treble on the polytrack today.
The aptly-named VICTORY
AHEAD (Thorn Park - Flying Lear by Jetball) kicked off Walker's run of
success with a gutsy win in the Class 5 - 1200m srint.
Stable apprentice Mohd Rizuan
Shafiq, who rode VICTORY AHEAD, went on to complete a double on BUZET
(Refuse To Bend - Garryurra by Daylami).
Vlad Duric, who earlier in
the afternoon scored by TATTOO (Ukok Warrior - Mrs Hogan by Canadian Silver)
and DONTELLTHEWIFE (Volksraad - Juliette Heights by Shirley Heights), then
combined with Walker to score on MACAU (Fastnet Rock - La Campanella by More
Than Ready).
Duric was returning to
action today after serving a five-day suspension for careless riding.
MACAU, who cost NZ$260,000 as a yearling and
managed a third from three starts in New Zealand, is starting to pay off his
huge price tag with his second consecutive win in three starts in Singapore
for the three-year-old.
