Woodworth off the mark with double

Benny Woodworth, the 2009 champion jockey who lost out to Azhar Ismail last year, got off the mark in the new season with a double here today. With a bit more luck, he could have another three winners to his name as he also found one to beat thrice during the afternoon.

Woodworth, who drew a blank on the first three days of the meeting, started the day on a winning note when he booted home I WISH (Fantastic Light - Defarge by Barathea) in the opening event.

He ended the day just as he started it, scoring on IN RETROSPECT (El Moxie - Blushing Miss by Nassipour). Both his winners were trained by Chong Keng Leong.

Azhar, meanwhile, kept his winning run going, chalking his fifth win of the season on CAPTAIN MELANG (Tiger Hill - Love To Dance by Citidancer) who just two weeks ago failed to show up in the Malaysia Magic Millions Classic at Sungei Besi.
