Red hot Woodworth lands treble at Kranji

After booting home four winners in Ipoh yesterday, former champion jockey Benny Woodworth made the long trip to Singapore today and was rewarded with a treble at Kranji.

Among his wins was the main event, the Open Handicap over 1200m on ECLAIR FASTPASS (Fastnet Rock - Hanover by Marscay).

The four-year-old showed a lot of promise mid last season when he reeled off three consecutive wins but was had to be spelled six months after the hat-trick.

After two eye-catching runs on resuming this season, ECLAIR FASTPASS, trained by Desmond Koh, took advantage of his light impost to win by 2 1/2 lengths in a smart time of 1min 9.93secs. It was his fourth win in seven starts in Singapore, after having picked up one win in seven starts in Australia.

Purchased by his owner for A$500,000 as a yearling, the gelding was placed second in the listed RSL Vain Stakes and third in the Group 3 HDF McNeil Stakes, both at Caulfield.
