Opie Bosson returned to winning form with a vengeance at Kranji tonight when
he booted three winners to share the spotlight with champion jockey Joao
Moreira.
Bosson began his current
Singapore stint with a 'bang' on the opening day of the season when he
captured the New Year Cup with FLYING FULTON and completed a double on RED
BEARD.
But the Kiwi, sponsored by
compatriots Mark Walker and Bruce Marsh, had to wait until the opening race
tonight to greet the judge again on CALIFORNIAN STAR (California Dane -
Snipped In The Bud by Snippets) who started odds-on after finishing second
in his debut earlier this month.
Bosson went on to win on
another favourite, debutant CALIFORNIAN GIRL (Danerich - Tribal Dancer by
Brave Warrior) who had raced twice in Australia for a third.
Bosson wound up the evening
when he combined with Marsh to register their third winner of the evening on
PALOMBARO (Rusty Spur - On Leave by Centro).
Moreira continued his hot
streak with a treble as well to lead the table with 20 wins, 10 ahead of
Danny Beasley.
