Captain Obvious back in charge in RDA Cup

CAPTAIN OBVIOUS (Verglas - Shathor by Tirol) followed up on his creditable fourth to ATO in the Group 1 KrisFlyer International Sprint last start to score a runaway win in the RDA Cup, an open handicap over 1000m on the polytrack at Kranji here today.

Having won 13 times from 21 starts in Malaysia — where he was voted Horse Of The Year — and Singapore, the Australian gelding went to Dubai at the start of the year to register a win, a fourth and a sixth from three starts at Meydan.

On his return, he went straight to the International Sprint and has quickly regained his winning form, accounting for five rivals to win by five and a half lengths today for his 15th win in 26 starts.

Newcomer GOOD LOOUKEN (Easing Along - La Mistonga by Tempranero), a winner of four races in his native Argentina, carved out a narrow win in his Singapore debut in the ICAP Singapore Stakes (Class 3 - 1100m) to give Joao Moreira his 100th win of the season.

Moreira went on to complete a treble on the day with IRISH FLASH (North Light - Time Is Money by Gilded Time) and is odds-on to beat his own record of 153 wins set last year.
