Things are looking up for
jockey Greg Cheyne.
Two weeks ago, the South
African finally landed his first winner at Kranji after 24 rides. Two more
race days and another 21 races later, he booted two winners tonight, thanks
to a couple of "gentlemen."
His first winner of the
evening was MR GEE (Noverre - Guidance by Selkirk) whose only previous win
came 12 months ago, and Cheyne was partnering the gelding for the first
time.
Chyene had one previous
ride on MR RAFFLES (Stormy Creek - Force Fillee by Foxbay) for a fourth, and
he learnt a lot from that ride to score on the six-year-old this time in the
Benchmark 97 - 1400m handicap.
The New Zealand gelding was
also returning to form after 12 months but it was his fifth win in 19 starts
in Singapore, in addition to two wins in New Zealand.
