CHIEFDOM PRINCE, a 220,000
guineas yearling who was deemed a disappointment in England despite winning
once in five starts when trained by Sir Michael Stoute, made a sensational
debut in Malaysia at Sungei Besi here today.
Now trained by Aditiyan
Selvaratnam and ridden by Jose De Souza, the five-year-old by Dansili from
the Reprimand mare Jouet ran his rivals off their feet, winning a Class 4 -
1400m sprint by four and three quarter lengths.
CHIEFDOM PRINCE did not
race at two and started just twice at three for a second in a modest Class 5
race at Nottingham. He started his four-year-old campaign with a win in
Class 5 at Pontefract and after just two more outings, found his way to
Malaysia.
Landed in August last year,
the Irish gelding has had a thorough preparation and it showed today as he
easily accounted for his opposition.
