Former Australian galloper
CODIGO (Conatus - Decipher by Timber Country) made a winning start to his
Singapore campaign when successful in the Class 4 - 1000m sprint on the
polytrack at Kranji tonight.
Aided by a 4-kg claim by
apprentice Wong Wei Xiang, the five-year-old came from a long way back at
the home turn to beat MIGHTY CREATION by half a length.
Malaysian bred CHINO
DIABLO, who won three times in 15 starts in Malaysia, set the pace and did
well to finished third in his first start at Kranji.
CODIGO, raced by Magic
Millions Sales principal Gerald Harvey, is a late starter, having just two
runs at three for a win over 1100m at Canterbury.
He had another six starts
at four, winning once over 1000m at Warwick Farm and two placings.
"He was a handy horse in
Sydney but just lost his way a bit late before coming up here," said Steven
Burridge.
