Rising nine-year-old DARING
COMMANDER (The Commander - Letty by Touching Wood) scored his first win in
Malaysia since relocating here early last year in a Class 5 - 1400m sprint
here today. But it came as a bit of shock for punters.
Prior to today, the New
Zealand gelding has managed just two third placings in Malaysia and finished
down the field in all his five starts this season.
But ridden by S Mutaza
today, DARING COMMANDER showed some of the dash that won him seven races in
Singapore, winning by one and a quarter lengths and paid RM292 for a win.
Meanwhile, two other former
Singapore gallopers found instant success in Malaysia for trainer Nor Azman.
SILVER ELEMENT (Pentire -
L'Affair by Marscay), a five-time winner at Kranji, caused the biggest upset
of the day when he defeated last-start winner
ALIEN to pay RM306. WEST TWO (Pins - Wry by Rory's Jester),
who managed one win in Singapore, outsprinted his more
fancied stable-mate SUN SUPREME. He paid RM43.
