Luke Danis, who enjoyed his
best season yet last year when he saddled 28 winners to finish seventh in
the table, has carried that form to the new season.
The former top jockey
saddled three winners here today to bring his tally to six for the season,
moving up to fourth in the table.
The success he is enjoying
nowadays is a far cry from that in 2007 and 2008 when he saddled just one
winner in each of the two years.
Danis was off to a fine
start today when his first two runners, ALL NICE and ROCKET EXPRESS, both
found the mark.
ALL NICE (Moon Rocket -
Victike by Straight Strike), whose last win came in November 2010, was
racing under Danis for the second time today after a long layoff.
ROCKET EXPRESS (King of
Danes - Ile De France by Volksraad), who found one to beat last two starts,
made no mistake this time to record his second win in 22 starts.
Danis wound up the
afternoon with the Malaysian bred MONEY NOT ENOUGH (Dolphin Street -
Imperial Girl by Stylish Century) winning for the second time in open
company and the gelding's fourth win overall.
