It's three from three for
EMERALD HILL in Singapore as trainer John O'Hara enjoyed one of his
best meetings with a treble on the polytrack at Kranji here tonight.
The American gelding, sold
for US$23,000 as an unraced two-year-old, finished dead last in his only
start in the US early last year but since coming to Singapore has won two
trials, followed by two runaway wins in Maiden and Graduation company.
Tackling a Progress event
over 1000m on the polytrack tonight, EMERALD HILL (Sharp Humor - You Glitter
Girl by Glitterman), ridden for the third start by Saifudin Ismail, had it
easy again when he coasted home by one and a half lengths.
Earlier in the evening,
O'Hara had back-to-back wins with ABASTOR (Viscount - Give 'm The Flick - by
Marauding) and FLASH GIFT (Lawyer Ron - Weekend Star by Confide).
The latter, another
American bred who landed unraced, is now unbeaten in two starts after a
hard-fought win in the Class 4 - 1000m sprint. The gelding was bought for
US$40,000 as a two-year-old.
