Gallagher lands first win in Malaysia

KUALA LUMPUR:  Mar 20, 2012

Mark Gallagher marked his second visit to Malaysia with a winner astride WANKEMBANG (Don Eduardo - La Buster by Housebuster) in the Class 5 - 1800m handicap at Sungei Besi here today.

In a one-day stint on Sprint Trophy day in 2009, Mark Gallagher nearly pulled off a big win when second on the Singapore-trained LUCKY SUPERSTAR in the Malaysia Magic Millions Classic.

But lucky luck smiled on the Briton this time when WANKEMBANG broke through for her maiden win in 10 starts.

It was also a welcome change of luck for trainer Malcolm Thwaites as it was only his second winner of the season on day when home based trainers again made a clean sweep of the races.
