FLASH GIFT (Lawyer Ron -
Weekend Star by Confide) made it three wins from three when he easily
accounted for five rivals in the Graduation event over 1200m on the
polytrack at Kranji here today.
Having started odds-on in
his first two starts, the American three-year-old started at a more generous
odds this time, perhaps in view that he had scrapped home by a neck over
1000m last time out.
Among his rivals was
PRECISELY, who started odds-on with a record of two wins and four placings
from six starts.
But FLASH GIFT, ridden by
regular partner Greg Cheyne, proved too good for the rest when he coasted
home by two and a half lengths.
"He’s by a (Group 2
Arkansas) Derby winner and he should get better as the distance gets
longer," said trainer John O'Hara.
FLASH GIFT is from the
first crop of the Eclipse Award champion older male for 2007 who
unfortunately euthanized while in his second season at stud in 2009 due to
complications from colic surgery.
FLASH GIFT was purchased by
his owners for U$40,000 as a two-year-old.
