Singapore Training Academy
for Racing (STAR) graduate Muhammad Hasri Rahiman has taken just 15 rides to
land his first winner when successful on THE HUSTLER (Hussonet - Hasty Bird
by Bluebird) in a Class 4 - 1000m sprint on the polytrack at Kranji tonight.
It was the third win in six
starts for the half-brother to LIM'S OBJECTIVE but the Australian
four-year-old was racing after a let-up due to a bleeding attack when
winning last time out.
"I’m so happy I finally
rode my first winner," said Hasri on returning to scale. "The horse was in
great form and travelled well throughout."
"I don’t have any relatives
in racing or know anyone in racing, but people always told me I should
become a jockey because I was short. I did a few jobs after I left school
and after I finished my National Service, I decided to give it a try."
He is indentured to Shane Baertschiger who
also trains THE HUSTLER, a A$80,000 purchase as a yearling.
