Ryan James rises to the challenge in trophy

KUALA LUMPUR:  Sep 8, 2012

Former Singapore galloper RYAN JAMES picked up his second win in Malaysia in style today by winning the RM250,000 Sports Toto Supreme Challenge Trophy over 1600m at Sungei Besi.

It was his second success in five runs since joining trainer Richard Lines and his biggest career win to date.

In Singapore, RYAN JAMES (Thorn Park - Mighty Myrtle by O'Reilly) managed five wins in three seasons at Kranji.

Ridden by Jackson Low, the now seven-year-old came from off the pace early to snatch victory by half a length. It was also his first win over a mile.

The win completed a treble for Low who shared riding honours with Noel Callow with three wins apiece.
