Missing in action partly
through a holiday back in Brazil and partly because of suspension, champion
jockey Joao Moreira was back in a business and at his usual best with be
booted home five winners at Kranji tonight.
But Venezuelan jockey Jose
Verenzuela could also be proud achievement tonight when he scored on his
only two rides for the evening.
Moreira went straight to
business when he took the opening event on FUKU'S PET (No Excuse Needed -
Little Gem by Night Shift).
He then had a hat-trick
with RALEIGH (O'Reilly - Poppies Last by Masterclasss), THE KATHUMPA (Desert
Sun - Our Gaelic Lass by Geiger Counter) and THE CINDERELLA MAN (Pentire -
Summer Lot by Kingdom Bay) before wounding up the night with SUPER READY
(More Than Ready - Enchanteress by Danehill).
Verenzuela had to wait late
in the programme for action and promptly scored on METEOR MIKE (Mogok -
Moondust by Spaceship) and had to work extra hard on CASH DOT COM (Hussonet
- Alcazaba by Flying Spur) to get the gelding home a narrow winner.
