Lightning curtails races in Ipoh

IPOH:  Nov 18, 2012

BIG LIGHTNING (All Bar One- Beni Hana by Danzero) captured the opening event in Ipoh today, the second day of the Coronation Cup meeting.

It turned out to be a bad omen for the Perak Turf Club as thunderstorm and lightning and heavy rain some two hours later forced the club to abandon the last five of scheduled eight races.

BIG LIGHTNING, who cost just A$8,000 as a yearling, followed up on his last start success to make it two wins in six starts.

Leading jockey Eirwan Khalid was also on the score sheet, winning on MR WHYTE (Written Tycoon - Chapent by Peintre Celebre) to bring his tally to 54 for the season.
