After a slow start to the
new season, trainer Richard Lines is regaining the sort of momentum that
brought him the title for the first time last year.
With four winners from the
first five races today, the Englishman now leads the table for the first
time this season with 15 winners.
SHARP SHOOTER (Pacific
Prince - Citidelight by Citidancer) continued a good run of results for
Malaysian breds in open company this season when he broke through for his
maiden win the opening event.
GOLD STAR PRINCESS (Elusive
City - Clarice Orsini by Common Grounds), a winner of two races in England,
scored her first win in Malaysia to give Lines his fourth winner of the
afternoon.
The shock of the day came
in the Class 3 - 1400m handicap when last start winner NEW POWER (My Halo -
Zingla by Danasinga) was unfancied in the betting but came through to chalk
up his sixth win in 25 starts and paid RM322 for a win.
