Former jockey Loh gets trainer's licence

Former jockey Loh Kin Kuen has been granted a MRA trainer's licence after the Perak Turf Club granted him stables in Ipoh.

Since hanging up his boots in 2006, Loh has worked under various trainers and his he obtained his A licence was assistant trainer to another former jockey Leong Poh Keong.

Loh was among the top riders in his days, getting his first big win in the Perak Turf Club Charity Cup astride NOBLE HERO.

The following year, he won the Sprint Trophy and the Piala Emas Sultan Selangor with SMOOTH SAILING. He also won the Sultan Gold Vase in consecutive years in 2003 and 2004 with LABU LABU.

During the last MRA meeting in Penang last month, applications for trainer's licences were received from Loh, David Miller, Edylyn Goh and Frank Maynard.
