Drum Major upsets in maiden victory

PENANG:  Dec 22, 2012

DRUM MAJOR broke through for his maiden win in 14 starts cause an upset in a Class 5 - 1300m handicap in heavy going here today.

With Chang Tze Onn in the saddle, the seven-year-old came from midfield in the early running to run down the front-running WATERFALL to win by one-and-a-quarter lengths to pay RM157 for a win.

The day's racing also started with another upset when SHARK HUNTER scored his second win in eight starts for trainer Peter Lee after failing to score in 22 outings for various trainers in Singapore and Malaysia.

Peter Lee, who was given only a six-month licence at the beginning of the season after failing to land a winner last year, saddled with a double with SHARK HUNTER and AMARO UNO to bring his tally to 20 for the year.
